Optical and ultrasound biometry will be done for Patients who will undergo pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and silicon oil injection preoperative and post operative 1 month

Inclusion Criteria: * patients with clinical diagnosis of retinal detachment (RD) * planned for pars plana vitrectomy with silicon oil tamponade Exclusion Criteria: * previous intraocular surgery * failed optical biometry acquisition * recurrent RD * combined scleral buckle surgery
